Happy New Year to everyone—and thank you all for continuing to follow along. I wish you nothing but peace, clarity, and success here in 2026. It’s been a little while since my last post, but that’s about to change. I’ve spent most of January deep in discovery mode, digging through new artists and letting the algorithm do its thing. This first write-up of the year might be my favorite find so far.
Meet Viuta—a young artist with so much soul you’d swear he was an ’80s or ’90s baby.
Like most great discoveries, this one happened late at night. I couldn’t sleep, so I was scrolling through Instagram Reels sometime before New Year’s when a video stopped me mid-scroll. The caption read: “bro HOW TF am I not noticed yet, I made this sh*t on a mac and 2 speakers. LIKE BRUH CMONNN 😭💔.”*
What I heard didn’t sound like something made by a novice. It sounded polished, intentional—alive. Smooth vocals floating over an unmistakably ’80s-inspired R&B groove snapped me fully awake. I went from half-asleep to fully locked in. Who is this guy? Where did he come from? Those were my exact thoughts at 3am.
Naturally, I went down the rabbit hole—scrolling through his Instagram, clicking through every link, listening to everything he had out. When I landed on “Never Die” and “Girl You Got It,” they became instant adds to my personal rotation. No hesitation.
As I dug through the comments, something else caught my eye: Joe Kay, founder of SOULECTION, giving Vituta his flowers—mentioning that he had played four of his records on SOULECTION Radio. Viuta’s reply said it all. The excitement was real, unfiltered, and deserved. Seeing that kind of recognition paired with genuine raw talent made it clear: this wasn’t just a moment.

I had to reach out.
After some back-and-forth in the DMs, I learned more about the person behind the music. Viuta is a 20-year-old artist out of New Jersey, raised in a Latino household where music played a central role. He always knew he had a creative side, though it took time to figure out where it truly lived. Before music, he explored video game design and film—but eventually found his voice through songwriting and production.
Raised on ’80s R&B from his mother and ’90s hip-hop from his father, those influences are deeply woven into the sound he’s crafting today. He’s been producing and writing his own music since the age of 14, and now, heading into 2026, Viuta is focused on growth—sharing his music with a wider audience and continuing to evolve as an artist.
If this is how the year is starting, 2026 is already sounding promising.
Viuta feels like one of those artists you catch early—before the congested blogs, before the hype, before the “how did we miss this?” conversations start. The soul is there, the intent is clear, and the work speaks for itself. If 2026 is about growth and consistency for him, this is the kind of beginning that usually leads to somewhere special. Keep him on rotation.
I’m glad I was able to reach out and connect with him—to get to know him a bit beyond the music. I’m sincerely rooting for him. As the year goes on and more music drops, maybe we’ll get an interview going… we’ll see. Until then, check out his music on Spotify by clicking HERE.
